What's Next for WarCraft 3
With the release of the 1.27b patch on December 13, Blizzard has been more vocal about their intentions for the next WarCraft 3 patch, 1.27c.
In regards to broken cinematics,
Cinematics are wonky in the latest builds because of a missing codec. The issue is fixed internally and will be pushed out in a future patch.
The 1.27b patch has also introduced bugs for Mac players, causing them to be unable to save replays.
We've got a fix implemented for 1.27c. Should be out in mid January.
Spam bots may be loud, but the players are louder.
We are still working on ways to combat bots and spam within our community, not only in game but also here on the forums.
I know this isn't the answer you're looking for because it doesn't impact your day to day gaming experience immediately, but we are working towards a better playing environment for our community in Diablo II, Warcraft III, and StarCraft.
More to come in the near future.
2 coordinates will be whitelisted
We intended to fix all the negative coordinates that cause maps to crash. We have the two pairs of coordinates that don't cause crashes (0, -11) and (-2147483648,
-2147483648) white listed in 1.27c. Soon.
As of right now we're not looking to make any gameplay changes.
Blizzard pushed back some of their plans that they wrote about earlier this year, but the plans are still on the table.
Balance Changes, New Map Pool, and More are being evaluated.
Vague hint of what they'll change in the next patch
Next patch will continue to be bug fixes, along with some minor implementation of features coming Q1 of 2017.
w3 Website should be getting an overhaul to better support stats for players.
High CPU usage will be fixed
We're aware that the CPU is being used more than it should, and are looking into a fix for it. I can tell you that it will not be in 1.27c but possibly in 1.28a.
